Job Description
Occidental Chemical Corp seeks a Technical Manager for its Direct Air Capture facility in Notrees, TX. The role involves ensuring environmental protection, managing technical resources, maintaining quality standards, and overseeing departmental personnel. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical engineering, with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and excellent communication skills are required.

As the Technical Manager at our Direct Air Capture facility in Notrees, TX you will: Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority Direct activities of the Technical Department in a manner that achieves quality standards and targeted goals related to costs, Process Safety, and Risk Accountability systems Establish and maintain the facility's MOC process and provide technical stewardship for any changes in the field Control technical expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting future engineering requests Manage all available technical resources (internal and external) to ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of plant priorities Ensure plant laboratory is operated efficiently with highly accurate results which provide direct support to the operating departments Develop the personnel in the department, direct work assignments, evaluate employee performance, and conduct employee discipline in a manner that is consistent with company, policies, and procedures Communicate, implement, and assure compliance with governmental rules and regulations, as well as company plans, programs, policies, and procedures involved with the conduct of a safe, clean, environmentally sound, and efficient operation Qualifications - External Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a preferred minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in technical, maintenance or production departments Bachelor's or master's in chemical engineering strongly preferred High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to read, write and speak in English Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to call-outs on a non-routine basis Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs Walking, bending, stooping is required Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator and be able to respond to visual and audible alarms Recruitment Fraud It has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
