We are looking for a Technical Director to join our Transport Planning team and assist in leading the growth and development of our business across the UK. With shared office space in Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol and Cardiff, we welcome applications from Technical Directors across these regions. The Role As a Technical Director within our Transport Planning team, you will assist in leading a dynamic team of experts, collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your strategic vision and technical prowess will be instrumental in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure. We have currently a varied workload from obtaining Active Travel funding and building transport models for Local Authorities to supporting National Highways on the major schemes such as the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine Upgrade Project. We are looking for the right person to assist in delivering these schemes. Responsibilities: Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Transport Planning team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Business Development: Identify growth opportunities, build strong client relationships, and contribute to winning new projects. Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of transport planning, traffic engineering, and sustainable mobility to drive impactful solutions. Project Delivery: Oversee the successful execution of projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets. Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, nurturing their skills and fostering a collaborative environment. Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, driving innovation within the team. Requirements: Experience: A proven track record in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy environment. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams. Technical Acumen: Strong knowledge of transport business development, transport modelling, demand forecasting, and sustainable transport solutions. Client Engagement: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Qualifications: Relevant degree/masters degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
