Salem Public Schools is offering a Sustainable Farming Intern position for high school students from Sept 30, 2024, to Jan 30, 2025. Interns will engage in farm activities like planting and harvesting, learn sustainable practices, and assist with equipment maintenance. The role requires outdoor work and teamwork skills. There are 8 openings, and the internship offers a stipend, with part-time hours in H Block.

Job Description
• Participate in daily farm activities, including planting, harvesting, and caring for crops.
• Learn about sustainable farming practices, such as organic farming, composting, and water conservation.
• Assist with the maintenance of farm equipment and tools.
• Help with the care of farm animals, if and when applicable.
• Gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and food production.

Qualifications
• Current high school student interested in farming, sustainability, or environmental science.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
