Position: Sustainability / Climate Risk - Managing Consultant
we are guidehouse, a 16,000+ person leading consulting firm serving the public sector and commercial clients with specialized capabilities in strategy, technology, and risk management. We offer an exciting, fast-paced environment that fosters intellectual growth and rewards individuals based on impact, not tenure. We focus on markets facing transformational change, technology-driven innovation, and significant regulatory pressure. Our consultants develop and deploy world-class knowledge and problem-solving that leads to breakthrough solutions.
our team – resilience, esg, and disaster recovery – works with companies and government agencies to promote the achievement of sustainability objectives, including deep decarbonization, climate resilience, and driving positive social impact. We help clients navigate the complex world of climate change, climate regulation, shifting consumer preferences, and the energy transition to implement sustainable operations, processes, and business models. We apply leading frameworks (e.g., science-based targets, net-zero, esg, and tcfd, etc.)
and create innovative digital, programmatic, and financial solutions. Our team supports customers in a wide variety of markets, including financial services, energy providers, life sciences, and government.
our climate and esg managing consultants provide wide-ranging support for client engagements. They organize their own and the team’s tasks and schedules, working on multiple projects simultaneously. They manage project teams, including having responsibility for client communications, project schedules, divisions of labor, architecting analyses, and overseeing team dynamics. They are responsible for developing teams and individuals through coaching and feedback, promoting a culture of excellence.
Many of our managing consultants also provide deep subject matter expertise in one or more areas and serve as a resource to others.
this position is targeted specifically for experts on climate risk. The successful candidate must have familiarity with the tcfd framework and other sustainability or climate-related fields.
the successful candidate will lead teams to grow the guidehouse sustainability consulting practice and deliver meaningful change to our clients.

tailor our decarbonization and sustainability offerings to specific clients

build and maintain relationships with clients
publish a blog per quarter to keep a strong external profile
stay up to date on topics relevant to clients (especially on topics related to specific sectors we serve as well as relevant reporting agencies, frameworks, and regulators)

they demonstrate advanced technical and subject matter capability and continue to gain credentials that are recognized and valued at our company and within the industry. They actively support key pieces of business development, sales activities, and identifying new business development opportunities both within and outside client engagements.
