CheckSammy is seeking a Sustainability Specialist in Las Vegas, NV, to manage end-of-life materials processing at their warehouse. The role involves coordinating material intake, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and optimizing resource recovery. We recognize that sustainable product and material management doesn’t end with manufacturing — it extends to the end of their lifecycle. We are seeking an Sustainability Specialist with experience working with various materials for End-of-Life. This position would be based in our Las Vegas Warehouse managing the various shipments coming in.

The Sustainability Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that CheckSammy’s materials and assets are properly processed and distributed to the appropriate end-of-life destinations, such as recycling centers, donation facilities, waste-to-energy plants, and certified disposal sites. Based out of a CheckSammy warehouse, this role works closely with the operations, logistics, and sustainability teams to maintain compliance, optimize resource recovery, and reduce landfill waste.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the intake, sorting, and categorization of materials received at the warehouse for end-of-life processing.
• Ensure accurate routing of items to designated EOL destinations (e.g., recyclers, donation centers, e-waste handlers, or disposal facilities).
• Maintain thorough documentation of material movement and final destinations to support sustainability reporting and client transparency.
• Partner with internal logistics teams to schedule and track shipments to downstream vendors.
• Verify vendor certifications and compliance with environmental and industry standards.
• Assist in conducting quality checks and audits to confirm proper material handling and adherence to SOPs.
• Identify opportunities for reuse, repurposing, or donation where applicable, in line with CheckSammy’s circular economy goals.
• Monitor inventory and assist with warehouse organization to streamline material flow.
• Communicate with site managers and sustainability teams to align on best practices and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement efforts around waste diversion, compliance, and efficiency.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or sustainability roles.
• Familiarity with waste management, recycling, or environmental compliance strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active warehouse environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and inventory tracking software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to environmental stewardship and CheckSammy’s sustainability mission.

Working Conditions:
• This role is based in a warehouse setting with regular exposure to physical materials handling.
• May involve occasional travel to local EOL facilities, other warehouses or client sites.
