Calderys is seeking a Sustainability Specialist in India to manage climate change initiatives, focusing on Scope 3 GHG calculations and strategy development. Responsibilities include project management, compliance monitoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Science or related fields and 5-7 years of relevant experience, along with strong project management skills and knowledge of GHG protocols.
Summary
The Sustainability Specialist (Climate Change incl. scope 3) will play a critical role in coordinating and managing initiatives focused on climate change. The core responsibilities include project management of Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations and climate change strategy, coordination with cross-functional teams for having full view on climate mitigation, adaptation planning, and data reporting, particularly related to CSRD. The role involves developing methodologies, training stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable climate-related laws and standards for the group.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise Climate Strategy
• Coordinate and manage projects related to climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
• Collaborate with relevant teams, including Operations Excellence and Energy, Industrial Risks, and Operations, to align strategies and ensure a holistic approach.
• Develop and implement climate change policies tailored to organizational and regulatory requirements.
2. Scope 3 GHG Emissions Management
• Lead Scope 3 GHG emissions calculation projects, working transversally with teams and providing guidance on data collection and reporting.
• Develop methodologies and training programs (in collaboration with third parties) to ensure the consistency and accuracy of data and its reporting.
• Coordinate with relevant global and local teams to ensure timely and accurate data submission.
3. Compliance and Risk Management
• Monitor compliance with climate change regulations, reporting requirements, and standards.
• Escalate issues, risks, and instances of non-compliance promptly to the sustainability steering committee.
• Ensure timely submission of climate-related disclosures and responses to regulatory bodies.

Requirements
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-7 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, or environmental management, with a focus on GHG accounting and project coordination.
• Technical Expertise:
o Strong knowledge of GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
o Familiarity with climate adaptation and mitigation frameworks.
o Experience with sustainability reporting tools and standards (e.g., CDP, TCFD).
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent project management and organizational skills.
o Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.
o Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
