Job Description
Michael Page is seeking a Sustainability Senior Consultant in Johannesburg, South Africa. The role involves developing and implementing sustainability strategies, performing materiality assessments, and managing KPIs for clients. Candidates should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting. Strong communication skills and knowledge of sustainability standards are essential. This is a full-time position located on-site.
Our client is a sustainability and climate change consultancy business offering value adding advisory services and software solutions. Their award winning team is strategically located in South Africa, the UK, the US, Europe, the Middle East and New Zealand. Purpose of the Job: Develop and implement Sustainability Strategies for clients. Perform Materiality Assessments. Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for Economic, Environmental, Social and Governance (EESG) Goals for clients. Oversee the collection of all data for these KPIs and ensure its integrity. Provide input into the technology software build of Sustainability Management Solution. Implement Sustainability Management Solution at clients (you will need to have outstanding project management skills to do this). Oversee the development and implementation of the Learning Platform at clients. Develop partnerships, strategic alliances and associations while representing solutions at clients. Assist your mentor with day-to-day operations: contribution to the planning and execution of projects. Research, interpret and analyse Sustainability trends and standards. Perform bench-marking. Follow policy and regulatory developments (and translate their impact for our business and our clients). Talk at youth forums on Sustainability Contribute to thought leadership articles on Sustainability. Assist in writing Sustainability, Climate Action and Integrated Reports for clients. Job Offer Market Related Offer The successful candidate will: Top academic results for matric and throughout degree. Master's degree in Chemical Engineering; CA(SA) or Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental Science, Sustainability or Climate Change. Minimum 5-years of experience in Sustainability consulting. Extensive knowledge of Sustainability and Climate Change Good English ability is crucial along with the confidence and ability to communicate well with clients Good knowledge of the JSE Sustainability and Climate Change Disclosure Guidance Good knowledge of the IFRS S1, S2 and S3 standards Good knowledge of Carbon Footprinting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) Carbon Disclosure Programme (CDP) Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and SBTi
