Job Description

Lorax Partnerships LLC is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager for Residential Programs in Baltimore, MD. The role involves directing project teams to meet sustainability goals, managing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Candidates should have relevant green building accreditations, experience in real estate development, and a degree in a related field. Responsibilities include project management, documentation for certification, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
The role of the Project Manager is to direct and organize project team members and manage deliverables in order to achieve the client's sustainability goals. An effective PM must focus on managing people and should possess a broad view and understanding of each team member's role for project goals to be reached. Much of a PM's job involves developing and maintaining an action plan and an agreeable schedule, ensuring the appropriate resources are in place, roles are understood, and all activities are thoroughly managed through completion. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

A RESNET HERS Rater, RESNET Modeler, or comparable green building related accreditation

Experience in the real estate development market

Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, environmental science, or related field

Ability to manage competing priorities

Understanding of MS Office Suite, Adobe DC, Google Suite and Ekotrope/REM ratesoftware

Responsibilities

Serve as green building Project Manager and Sustainability Consultant for multiple diverse and concurrent projects

Interpret and communicate building code and rating systems to design practitioners and property owners - particularly ENERGY STAR, NGBS, and various rehab rebate and incentive programs

From concept design through occupancy, manage all of the following with respect to the project's sustainability goals and requirements:

Billing & Scheduling - identification of priority objectives and alignment with design and construction milestones

Compliance strategy, Design coordination & Construction administration

Reviewing, compiling, and submitting documentation for certification or permitting

Progress reporting

All miscellaneous green building queries or issues

Lead meetings and foment discussion among design and construction teams regarding sustainability goals, strategy, challenges, and progress

Conduct certification-specific project kick-off meetings or charrettes with relevant project teams.

Review and provide comments on drawings, specifications, standards, construction plans and submittals, operational policies, and leases for conformance to owner's and/or jurisdiction's high-performance building requirements

Independently document or assist design and construction teams in completing documentation for certification or code compliance

Perform take-offs and modeling to support HERS ratings/Energy Star certifications

Stay abreast of latest green and/or high-performance building law across multiple jurisdictions, green building technologies, sustainability issues, and supporting science

Design and/or consult on marketing materials, including case studies, walking tours, and educational brochures highlighting sustainability accomplishments

Establish and maintain professional partnerships with design practitioners across a wide range of disciplines, including mechanical engineers, architects, civil engineers, landscape architects, general contractors, energy modelers, solar designers, and renewable energy asset managers

2+ years of work experience.

Earns, and maintains, 2 industry-related, professional accreditations.

Bill a minimum of 3x base salary. The billing expectation is based on the fees associated with the scope of work being performed by the employee and excludes subconsultant fees, certification fees, and other similar fees.

Manage a diverse project load while maintaining the sustainability or wellness strategy, schedule of deliverables, client expectations and issues, and revenue forecasting and monthly billing with little oversight.

Submits weekly timesheets with a minimum of 40 hours.

Assist with the training and oversight of APM project work

Salary Range: Starting at $60,000+, commensurate with experience
