About the position

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized and award-winning professional services consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Sustainability Project Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. This position is a unique opportunity to lead sustainability initiatives from pre-planning through post-construction, ensuring compliance with various third-party standards and criteria, including those from USGBC, GBCI, ILFI, IWBI, and WBDG. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with both internal and external project teams, leading charrettes and workshops, and conducting thorough reviews of drawings and specifications. This role also involves assigning and managing the work of others while acting as a technical expert in sustainability practices. In addition to project management responsibilities, the Sustainability Project Manager will participate in marketing and business development efforts as needed. This includes writing scopes for new work and engaging with clients to foster strong relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sustainability, architecture, or engineering, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
• Lead sustainability scopes from pre-planning through post-construction based on various third-party standards and criteria.

• Coordinate with internal and external project teams to ensure project success.

• Lead charrettes and workshops to facilitate project discussions and planning.

• Conduct drawing and specification reviews to ensure compliance with sustainability standards.

• Assign and manage the work of others, acting as a technical expert in sustainability practices.

• Participate in marketing and business development efforts, including writing scopes for new work.

Requirements
• A bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability, Interior Design, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture or a related field.

• At least ten years of relevant experience in sustainability project management.

• Three or more of the following accreditations: LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C, GPCP, LFA or similar.
