Job Posting Description

Boson Children's Environmental Sustainability team leads enterprise-wide efforts to achieve organizational goals around decarbonization and promotion of sustainability as a key component of children's health. The Sustainability Program Manager manages multidisciplinary projects of varying priority and complexity, serving as in-house project consultant to stakeholders across the enterprise. This includes facilitation of analytical work and advising on issues related to process improvement and cost management involved in implementing a sustainability agenda. This position will serve as a change agent for the enterprise sustainability initiative and a champion for this work.
This Sustainability Program Manager will:
• Manage sustainability projects from initiation/planning through the execution and delivery of the contract, concluding with project transition and close.
• Projects may include process improvement, annual data collection/award application processes, stakeholder education and event planning/execution related to supply chain, clinical and research operations.
• Consult with organizational stakeholders on initiatives; Identify and use appropriate project management tools and concepts (i.e. scope management, planning, budget management, risk/ issue management and communications).
• Develop and execute work plans, setting priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency. Deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Create work products and project deliverables independently. Understand and meet expectations for deliverable quality and timeliness.
• Conduct complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of project data, summarize findings, draw appropriate conclusions, and effectively communicate results to team.
• Manage and direct regulatory/ reporting activities related to projects.
• Perform data collection and reporting for internal dashboard and external benchmarking/ regulatory reporting.
• Support analysis of cost savings related to sustainability initiatives.
• Manage communication and relationships with key stakeholders (internal, external and institution-wide). Compose, edit, and deliver written and verbal communications.
• Facilitate group discussions, keeping team members appropriately informed. May include managing one or more standing sustainability workgroups.
• Support vetting of sustainability projects seeking support and provide research and project management for these projects during all phases of the project life-cycle.
• Develop tools and processes to provide ongoing support. Conduct best practice research and surveillance to identify promising projects externally.
To qualify, you must have:
• BA degree plus at least 3 years of related experience
• Knowledge of principles related to health care management and environmental sustainability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement and process improvement activities.
• Ability to conduct basic secondary research (e.g., literature reviews) and advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple demands and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Ability to listen to others, process multiple points of view, and persuade/negotiate with peer and leadership level stakeholders on issues that impact hospital operations.
• Ability to represent the organization externally at stakeholder meetings.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, web-based tools for project management and applications for collecting/reporting data.
