The University of California, Irvine is hiring a Sustainability Officer 2 for a full-time day shift. This role involves providing analytical and technical support for sustainability projects, particularly in parking and transportation services. Responsibilities include overseeing commuter programs to promote carpooling and reduce vehicle trips, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and representing the organization in transportation meetings. Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) Operations Manager, this position is responsible for providing professional level analytical and technical support on a variety of projects relating to the University sustainability efforts, including overseeing the Commuter Alternatives and Rideshare Programs to ensure organizational compliance with the SCAQMD Rule 2202 regulations. Coordinates the planning, analysis, development, marketing and implementation of services and support functions associated with these programs with the goal of increasing carpooling, reducing vehicle trips and impacting smog levels to promote a healthier environment. Represents organization at transportation meetings held by various local and state agencies.

Required Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of rideshare and related transportation programs
• Working knowledge of environmental sustainability and policy.
• Two years of related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of sustainability concepts and practices, including LEED systems, climate action plans, food service procurement, and waste management practices.
• SCAQMD Certification for Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC)
• Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Knowledge of sustainability concepts and practices, including transportation demand management and clean energy.
• Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Knowledge of U.S. Green Building Council rating systems.
• Knowledge of SCAQMD Rule 2202 requirements and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
• Demonstrates ability to analyze, research, and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
• California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent combination of education/ experience
• Analytical skills appropriate for the role
• Ability to work alternate schedules to include nights and weekends when needed.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional

Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel and Access
• LEED Accredited Professional
