Job Description

Oregon State University is hiring a part-time Sustainability Office Graphic Design Intern to create marketing materials and support sustainability projects. Responsibilities include designing print and digital media, managing web content, photographing events, and representing the office at community events. Candidates must be enrolled in an academic program and possess intermediate graphic design skills. The position offers a flexible schedule and competitive hourly pay.
Overview: The Sustainability Office at Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking a part-time Sustainability Office Graphic Design Intern to design marketing and outreach materials and perform other visual design tasks. Responsibilities:
• Design print media such as posters, brochures, quarter-sheets, and various creative marketing materials
• Design digital media including social media graphics, informational slides, and other visual elements to support various sustainability-related projects and programs
• Adhere to OSU and organization style guides in creating media
• Use a mix of Adobe Suites and Canva depending on the level of media being produced
• Assist in managing web presence for the Sustainability website using Drupal 10
• Photograph events, activities, and locations for promotional use
• Suggest and produce videos featuring sustainability projects and events
• Coordinate use of shared 3D panorama camera and other equipment
• Communicate and represent OSU Sustainability Office at various community events through tabling
• Other related duties as assigned
• *Qualifications:**
• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• High school student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
• Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
• Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
• Intermediate graphic design skills and experience with both Adobe design software (InDesign and Illustrator) as well as basic Canva skills (for social media)
• Excellent attention to detail, timeliness, and follow-through
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to self-manage and complete tasks independently
• Personal commitment to and general knowledge of basic sustainability principles (Preferred)
