Attero Recycling is seeking a Sustainability Manager in Noida, India, with 8-12 years of experience in Sustainability and ESG. The role involves developing climate strategies, conducting environmental impact analyses, and promoting sustainable practices in lithium-ion battery and e-waste recycling. The candidate will also manage ESG reporting, represent the company at conferences, and seek grants for sustainability initiatives. This position is integral to enhancing the company's environmental stewardship and innovation.
Overview: Attero Recycling Private Limited is a NASA-recognized metal extraction company and end-to-end recycler of Li-Ion Batteries and E-waste headquartered in Noida and a manufacturing facility in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Attero Recycling Private Limited is amongst a handful of elite organizations globally, with the capability to extract pure metals like Lithium, Cobalt, Titanium, Nickle, Manganese, Graphite, Gold, Copper, Palladium, etc from end-of-life electronics and Lithium-ion batteries.
The company is now in process of global expansion and setting up operations in India, Europe, and North America. We are a leading recycling company focused on Lithium-Ion battery and e-waste recycling, and we are seeking a highly skilled Climate Expert to join our team. You will be vital in helping our company address the challenges and opportunities brought about by climate change. You will contribute your expertise to developing and implementing sustainable and environmentally responsible practices in our operations, with a specific emphasis on Lithium-Ion battery and e-waste recycling processes and circularity. Staying up to date with the latest developments in climate science, regulations, and technologies will be crucial to ensure our company remains at the forefront of sustainability. You will also promote responsible mineral initiatives, and circular economy principles, manage ESG reporting, represent our company at conferences, and foster a passion for climate action. Additionally, you will actively seek and secure grants, subsidies, and awards for our sustainable initiatives and ensure our achievements are appropriately recognized. Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a climate strategy & sustainable practice: Work with the management team to create a comprehensive climate strategy aligned with the company's sustainability goals and objectives. Work on enhancing sustainable practices within the company, including waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy adoption.
• Environmental impact analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of climate-related risks and opportunities relevant to our operations, including physical risks, regulatory changes, and market trends. Further identify areas for improvement to minimize carbon emissions, energy consumption, and other environmental footprints.
• Research and analyses: Continuously monitor and analyze the latest developments in climate science, regulations, and technologies to ensure the company remains informed and proactive in addressing climate change. This should be with specific focus on emerging climate change technologies, circularity, and carbon credits to drive innovation, efficiency, and potential revenue streams.
• Policy and compliance: Stay informed about local, regional, and international climate-related policies, regulations, and reporting requirements. Develop strategies to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for leveraging incentives and grants.
• Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and industry stakeholders to promote the company and its products/ services and foster a culture of sustainability, promote best practices in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• Reporting and communication: Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate the company's climate initiatives, progress, and potential revenue opportunities.
• Training and education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness among employees about climate change, sustainability, circular economy principles, and their roles in achieving the company's environmental objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree/ engineering or higher in environmental science, climate science, sustainability, or a related field. A master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
• Proven experience working in the field of climate change or sustainability.
• Strong knowledge of climate science, greenhouse gas emissions, climate risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory frameworks related to climate change.
• Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint analysis methodologies.
• Understanding of circular economy principles and their application to the metals recycling industry will be an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical recommendations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change.
