About the position

The Sustainability Manager at Roppe Corporation will play a pivotal role in leading the management of life cycle thinking within the organization. This position is responsible for conducting product life cycle assessments and similar studies for the company's products and processes, as well as for external customers. The Sustainability Manager will spearhead the company's transparency initiatives by developing externally published Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Health Product Declarations (HPD), and other relevant instruments that convey sustainability information to stakeholders. In addition to managing the use of external consulting groups and providing supplemental support in LCAs, the Sustainability Manager will oversee the LCA software and server system, specifically GaBi. This role will also involve managing and providing data for special projects, which include Product/Code Evaluations, the company's Annual Sustainability Report, and other sustainable reporting initiatives. The Sustainability Manager will represent the company on the ASTM E-60 Sustainability Technical Committee and other relevant committees, leading the green product attribute certifications and overseeing the review and approval process. The position requires active participation in the company's Green Literature approval process and providing leadership to the Life Cycle Management & Green Products Team. The Sustainability Manager will contribute to the development of internal talents to enhance the company's competency in adding value to products through sustainability. Building a strong network and providing counsel within the life cycle community is essential, including participation in external technical and trade associations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Providing support and help drive green product development through working directly with Science & Technology product developers.

• Actively participating as a committee member for the Company Green Literature approval process.

• Providing leadership to Life Cycle Management & Green Products Team for products and life cycle assessments.

• Contributing to the development of internal talents to strengthen Company's competency adding value for products through sustainability.

• Developing a strong network and providing counsel within the life cycle community, including participating in external technical and/or trade associations.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
,
• Bachelor's degree in EH&S or related field required.
,
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Ability to accurately write or otherwise record information such that it is readily usable by coworkers, customers, vendors, and others.

• Detail-oriented, good with basic math, and able to work in a team environment required.

• Experience and ability to work in computer applications.

• Ability to work without supervision and to make appropriate decisions.

• Ability to process work with accuracy and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to use a computer, including but not limited to its keyboard, touchpad, monitor, and mouse.
