About the Role

As an Analyst, Climate Finance, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our sustainable investment strategy, driving decision-making that accelerates the transition to a greener economy. You'll collaborate closely with senior leaders to structure climate finance transactions and optimize portfolio performance.

This permanent, full-time role offers flexible working arrangements, primarily from the Vancity Community Investment Bank head office location and your Ontario-based home office. You may be required to work in-office at least once a week.

A typical day involves:
• Financial Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights to inform investment decisions.
• Transaction Support: Collaborate with senior leaders to structure climate finance transactions, ensuring optimal portfolio performance.
• Reporting and Compliance: Prepare quarterly financial and impact reports, maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models, under senior associate oversight, to support investment decisions.
• Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement, collaborating with senior associate and management team to implement technology and process enhancements.
• Client Communication: Engage with existing clients, maintaining relationships and addressing their needs.
• Transaction Facilitation: Facilitate transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records for the loan portfolio.
• Investment Memoranda: Support preparation of investment memos, term sheets, and associated materials.
• Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence on transactions, communicating with independent consultants and drafting credit applications.
• Process Streamlining: Collaborate with the team to integrate software and technology solutions, streamlining processes and workflows.

You Have:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3+ years of experience in financial analysis and modeling.
• Experience in underwriting, demonstrating strong business and financial analytical skills.
• Nice-to-have: experience in sustainable investing or climate finance.
• Strong communications skills (oral and written).
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail, managing competing priorities under tight timelines.
