Hoefer Welker is seeking a Sustainability Intern for a seasonal/entry-level position in Kansas City, MO. The intern will assist the sustainability director with project design, certifications, and initiatives. Candidates should be architecture, engineering, or sustainability students proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office, with strong organizational skills and a passion for sustainable design.
Hoefer Wysocki Architecture is seeking a Sustainability Intern for a seasonal/entry-level position in Kansas City, MO. The intern will support the sustainability director in enhancing project design, assisting with certifications, and advancing sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include documentation for third-party certifications, learning energy code processes, and using sustainability software. Candidates should be architecture, engineering, or sustainability students proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office, with strong organizational skills.
We are looking for a passionate, determined, and talented Sustainability Intern. Candidates will have the opportunity to work directly with Hoefer Welker's sustainability director in improving sustainable project design, assisting with third party sustainability certifications, and moving forward companywide sustainability initiatives. Work will cover Hoefer Welker's 5 main sustainability focus areas - site, water, energy, materials, and resilience - and equip candidates with strategies as well as soft skills for moving projects and the industry forward on sustainable design.
Essential Functions: Assist with various third-party certification documentation (ex: LEED, Green Globes) Assist with company sustainability initiatives such as AIA 2030 reporting Learn the process and procedures for energy code and green financing analysis Learn programs such as Cove.tool and WUFI for making informed sustainable decisions Understand how to sell sustainability to clients and project teamsEducation and Experience: Current participation as a 3rd or 4th year, traditional or non-traditional, architecture, engineering or sustainability student at an accredited university working towards a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, required. Required Skills/Abilities: Candidate must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, and meet deadlines
Self-motivated and with a strong work ethic and personally driven to consistently meet project design and performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people and committed to being an effective, contributing team player. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
