Job Description
Lindt & Sprüngli is seeking a Sustainability Intern for a twelve-week program in Stratham, NH. Interns will gain hands-on experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, focusing on scope 3 inventory and carbon foot-printing. Responsibilities include data analysis, collaboration with departments, and documentation. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Environmental Science or related fields, with relevant experience in emissions calculations. What To Expect as a Lindtern:
Our twelve-week Lindternship program offers hands-on experience allowing undergraduate and graduate students to gain practical skills and contribute to projects that directly impact our business. During the summer, interns will be paired with a mentor, attend professional career development workshops/sessions and attend networking events to meet additional team members.
This Position:
Gain real Environmental, Health and Safety experience analyzing data to reduce injuries, reduce risk and maintain compliance. Upon completion of this assignment, you will have experience working in a Consumer Goods Manufacturing facility assessing risk, and understanding the hazards that are present in our industry. You will gain practical experience leading a safety improvement team, participating in the Safety Committee, and updating safety SOP’s and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work independently to identify biggest areas of improvement in our current scope 3 inventory
• Identify actions to close data gaps in scope 3 inventory
• Perform a PCF analysis of select key franchise products
• Collaborate with internal departments to find required inputs for PCF and other activity data
• Identify PCF tools for future use including pros and cons of each
• Document all work and assumptions in great detail
Qualifications:
Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Experience performing scope 3 inventories and emissions calculations as part of carbon foot-printing, preferably for food or agricultural products
• Experience in performing Product Carbon Foot-printing, preferably for food or agricultural products
• Familiarity with the GHG Protocol, and SBTi requirements
• Familiarity with Sphera and non-financial / activity data collection
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail
• Ability to develop and maintain well organized documentation systems
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning new tools and methodologies
Skills & Knowledge
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Certifications:
• Pursuing degree in Environmental Science
Compensation: $20 per hour
