Job Summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an experienced Alaska Climate Strategy Director to lead the development of a climate strategy that focuses on mitigation, natural climate solutions, renewable energy, and climate adaptation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in conservation practice or a related field and experience managing complex projects, including finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.

Main Responsibilities
• Develop a climate strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and priorities.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Conservation Team, Government Relations, Communications, Philanthropy, and Finance/Operations to develop and implement the climate conservation program.
• Serve as project manager for assigned projects, including designing a project around net zero opportunities for Alaska.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience in conservation practice or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation.
• Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
• Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance.
