About the position
The Sustainability Engineer / Consultant II at IPS plays a crucial role in enhancing the energy efficiency and sustainability of life sciences projects. This position involves simulating and analyzing building performance, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize building designs. The engineer will focus on energy modelling and provide technical support to project teams, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health sectors.
Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive environmental models and simulations for building performance assessment, including energy use, thermal comfort, and daylighting.

• Incorporate MEP systems into models to gauge their effect on building performance.

• Offer technical support and advice on building physics and energy modelling to project teams.

• Develop detailed reports and presentations summarizing modelling outcomes and suggestions.

• Work with in-house engineers and stakeholders to enhance building design for energy efficiency and sustainability.

• Keep abreast of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in building physics and energy modelling.
Requirements
• BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.

• Certifications like LCC, LCEA, CEng, or equivalent.

• 3-5 years in MEP engineering and building performance modelling.
,
• Skilled in IES VE modelling software.
,
• Solid grasp of building physics, energy modelling, and simulation methods.
,
• Experience in MEP system design and integration within building models.
,
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
,
• Team player capable of juggling multiple projects.
,
• Familiarity with other simulation tools (e.g., BIM, AutoCAD).
,
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green building certifications.
