Role Overview:
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused. They must take ownership of and manage their day-to-day tasks.
Collins Sustainability Data and Model Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Data management and analysis: Manage large and varied datasets in excel/powerBI including pivot tables and advanced filtering and computing to analyze Collins product data from different SBUs at different levels of detail. Implement strong data storage practices to enable traceability and auditability of data.
• Emissions accounting: Carry out analysis of emissions and other environmental impacts on aerospace products aligned with industrial standards. Understand methods of lifecycle emissions estimation, measuring and accounting. Carry out sustainability product emissions calculation based on existing product data and Collins level assumptions. Contribute to quantification of sustainability goals, status, and potential pathways for sustainability reporting obligations.
• Sustainable technologies: Contribute to implement sustainability impact estimation for different technology options across aircraft systems relevant to Collins aerospace
• Life Cycle Analysis: Create LCA models; develop methodologies to measure, report and improve product sustainability metrics; and manage data inventories for product sustainability data extracted from supply chain and BOMs
• Ecodesign: Help implement user friendly, reduced order methods, to enable early design sustainability analysis based on ecodesign principles based on different lifecycle stages and their impacts.
• Ability to project manage projects related to emissions estimation and accounting with many stakeholders across Collins and many data streams.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills to document and explain methods behind sustainability calculations and estimations and to enable review by leadership of the data and process as necessary.
• Support business need to respond to customer and other stakeholder audits as necessary.
• Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards.
• Organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups;
An ideal candidate for this role shall have the following skills and qualifications:
• Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in sustainable technologies and data management and analytics including PowerBI. Experience in creating LCA models and emissions reporting.
• Project or program management experience
• Customer-minded approach to solving problems and supporting solutions
• Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail and quality
• Ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively within the team and with our stakeholders
• Experience working in an Agile environment is desired
