Job Description

British American Tobacco is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator in Ibadan, Nigeria. British American Tobacco Nigeria has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Coordinator in Ibadan

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Ensure compliance with EHS laws, BAT standards, and applicable regulations
• Investigate incidents/accidents and manage corrective & preventive actions
• Conduct site audits, inspections, and hazard/risk assessments
• Maintain EHS KPIs, statistics, and reporting dashboards
• Promote EHS awareness through campaigns and initiatives
• Develop, update, and enforce SOPs for safe work practices
• Coordinate EHS training and assess organizational training needs
• Liaise with regulators, clients, and external stakeholders
• Drive EHS programs, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives
• What are we looking for?
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science or relevant field
• Mandatory - Possession of a recognized national or international diploma in environment, health or safety practices (NEBOSH IGC, ISPON HSE, AOSH etc).
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
• Sound understanding of risk management principles and their application to the business.
• Competent in computer skills and the use of the Company’s standard software packages.
• Effective communication skills to influence personnel at all levels in the company.
• Ability to deal with public bodies and regulators when called upon to do so e.g. FMEnv, NISCN, NISP etc.
• Understand and be sensitive to the natural environment and health and safety concerns and the priorities to be addressed.
• Basic knowledge of finance /costing.
• Ability to train other people
