British American Tobacco is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator in Monterrey, Mexico. Implement and maintain appropriate strategies to control and minimize the Environmental Impact, Health and Safety risks inherent to the operational, productive, and service processes of the Factory; in order to comply with the Environment, Hygiene, and Safety Policies, guidelines, and standards of British American Tobacco and with the applicable Mexican Laws and Regulations.
• Your key responsibilities will include*:
- Guide all those responsible for each department of the Factory for the monitoring and/or compliance with the objectives, goals, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and/or EH&S-BAT policies.
- Develop and/or update the Environment Regulations applicable to Internal and/or external personnel in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal requirements of the company.
- Annually update the Factory's EHS risk assessment required by Government Agencies and BAT Guidelines in order to implement actions in coordination with management to minimize the main risks and follow up on key environmental KPIs.
- Guarantee that information, records and legal documents, referring to EHS issues are complete, secure and fully identified to provide evidence of compliance with official requirements or policies applicable to the company.
- Develop and/or implement Factory EHS operating procedures, as well as audit and promote compliance in the different areas of the production and services areas.
- Perform periodic Environment, Hygiene and Safety inspections in all areas of the Factory to identify opportunity areas or unsafe conditions/practices. Make solution proposals to the Factory Managers regarding the corrective and/or preventive actions that must be taken and follow up on their implementation.
• *What are we looking for?
- Graduate in Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working in EHS or Sustainability Department and knowledge of industrial safety and environment issues.
- Intermediate-Advanced English: written and speaking.
- Proficient level of MS Office Applications (Intermediate advanced).
- Skilled in management consulting, audit participation, and execution, with a strong ability to lead, collaborate in teams, and drive results.
