ENMAX is seeking a Sustainability Co-op Student to join their Sustainability & Indigenous Relations Team in Calgary, AB. The role involves evaluating the company's ESG performance, conducting research, and supporting communication efforts. Candidates should be enrolled in a co-op program and possess strong research and communication skills. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office work on other days.

We are looking for a Sustainability Co-op Student to join our Sustainability & Indigenous Relations Team. You’ll play a supportive role in evaluating ENMAX’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance. In this position, you’ll assess our standing against industry peers, ESG frameworks, and rating agencies, helping to shape our sustainability strategy.
You’ll also support the team with presentation development, working group documentation, and meeting facilitation. This cross-functional role offers the opportunity to collaborate across the business, providing valuable input into how ENMAX advances its sustainability initiatives.
Major Responsibilities
• Research best practices across ENMAX’s ESG framework.
• Develop a maturity assessment template for ongoing tracking of ENMAX’s ESG commitments and related industry best practices.
• Support the development of ESG-related materials for internal and external communication and industry association submissions.
• Research ESG frameworks and ratings agencies and update an ESG tracking matrix.
• Support media monitoring.
Education Required
• Working towards a Degree or Diploma in Business, Sustainability, Economics, Environment, Communications, or other relevant discipline.
• Must be enrolled in a formal co-operative education program managed by the post-secondary institution. Must be eligible to work in Canada
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong research and analysis skills
• Effective written communication and presentation skills
• Mature relationship building and collaboration skills
• Data analytics experience an asset

Salary: Co-Op CM, Communications (CUPE 2025 rates)
$24.82 - $26.03 - $28.59 - $30.58
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
