Job Description
The Sustainability and Continuous Improvement Project Manager will support TEL's global sustainability program, focusing on local implementation of sustainability objectives, emissions accounting, and management reporting. Responsibilities include developing a product emissions reduction roadmap, managing projects, collaborating with sustainability teams, driving social responsibility initiatives, and leading cross-functional teams. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with Japanese language skills preferred.
About the position
The position involves supporting TEL's global sustainability program and goals, with a focus on driving local implementation of these sustainability objectives. This includes identifying specific goals, managing emissions accounting, and preparing management reports. The role requires collaboration with business owners to develop and deploy a product emissions reduction roadmap, which encompasses product development, facilities management, and supply chain management. Additionally, the individual will manage projects aimed at delivering on these emissions reduction roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the global business unit's product emissions goals. The successful candidate will also work closely with both US and global sustainability management teams to shape the overall sustainability strategy and meet reporting requirements. This role extends to driving social responsibility initiatives as approved by management, effectively communicating important corporate priorities, and planning, performing, and implementing improvement projects. Performance measurement against project requirements is crucial, as is the collection of data to identify root causes of problems and aligning improvements to address performance shortfalls. The position requires organizing, leading, and facilitating cross-functional project teams, communicating team progress, and potentially delivering presentations and training courses related to project management or sustainability. Furthermore, the individual will support the organization in structuring information necessary for consistent work performance, particularly concerning policies, procedures, and instructions.
Responsibilities

• Drive local implementation of sustainability goals, including goal identification, emissions accounting, and management reporting.

• Work with business owners to develop and deploy product emissions reduction roadmap, including product development, facilities management, and supply chain management.

• Manage projects to deliver on emissions reduction roadmaps.

• Collaborate with global business unit for product emissions goals.

• Collaborate with US and global sustainability management on overall sustainability strategy and reporting requirements.

• Drive social responsibility initiatives as approved by management.

• Communicate important corporate priorities, such as overall sustainability direction.

• Plan, perform and implement improvement projects.

• Measure performance against project requirements.

• Collect data to identify root cause of problems.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in sustainability, engineering, business, information management, or similar field required.

• Japanese language ability strongly preferred.
