Job Description
Pace® Analytical Services is seeking a Sustainability Analyst (Hybrid) in Minneapolis, MN, responsible for supporting customers in achieving sustainability goals. The role involves documenting life cycle impacts, collaborating with various teams, designing project plans, and preparing updates for stakeholders. Key tasks include supporting sustainability reviews, managing eco-certifications, and contributing to strategic planning for sustainability initiatives. A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required.
Corporate Sustainability is focused on progressing our customer towards meeting its Sustainability ambitions while looking toward the future through our commitment to developing sustainable products, packaging, and systems.
Our Sustainability Analyst position has the primary responsibility for customer support work focused on sustainability. This includes providing documentation regarding life cycle impacts (water, energy, waste..) ingredient questions, and biodegradability. This role works closely with the Regulatory Affairs and packaging teams, while supporting the sustainability reviews of formulations and systems during the development process.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Hold a Corporate Sustainability position with global influence and enterprise-wide impact
• Design detailed project plans to deliver on our customer's aspirations in the areas of i) Substances of Concern, ii) circular economy, e.g. sustainable packaging, iii) pathway to PEF, iv) Product Carbon Footprint and v) ingredient policy.
• Inform and achieve alignment with diverse and broad set of internal stakeholders, e.g. business, procurement, regulatory, sales, marketing, supply chain, R&D, etc.
• Execute project plan through collaboration with stakeholders, leading through influence and appropriate escalation instincts to identify and mitigate risks.
• Prepare executive level updates to inform on progress, using keen judgement to identify risks early, and adapt the project plan to minimize those risks.
• Coordinate external statements to publish the customer's ambitions to external stakeholders to positively share the customer's brand and reinforce our commitment to sustainable practices.
• Launch robust marketing claims verification process.
• Support Institutional on 3rd party certifications strategy.
• Design the PEF roadmap for our customer
• Support Technical Support Requests in collaboration with resources from the EGIC
• Contributes to overall strategic planning and yearly action plans for the Global Sustainability Team by establishing the company’s global strategy and policies related to product systems and services stewardship in collaboration with the Global RD&E community. Focus is to evolve and implement the corporate strategy for integrating sustainability into our product development processes in a way that differentiates the customers products and supports sales.
• Works with purchasing and suppliers to align these teams with our product sustainability initiatives to enhance innovation and meet our forward looking substance portfolio objectives.
• Support our Corporate Account team globally providing product specific sustainability data.
• Support Contract Sales with RFP requirements.
• Respond to sustainability questions on customer surveys.
• Evaluate formulations based on the Product Sustainability Criteria.

• Support business teams in the eco-certification of new and existing formulations.
• Process and present data.
• Mange internal websites (e.g. eco-certification site).
• Write reports or summaries and provide customer training to leverage our customer support expertise broadly across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Studies or other closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
• Understanding of our products and markets
• Strong data analysis skills, Excel expertise and ability to analyze and interpret large data sets.
