Description YOU MUST BE A CURRENT METRO EMPLOYEE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION Summary Objective The Program Coordinator for Green and Circular Economy at the Louisville Metro Government's Office of Sustainability is a dynamic and impactful role focused on driving the city's transition towards a more sustainable and resilient city. The incumbent will lead efforts to develop and implement innovative programs that promote green building, infrastructure, jobs, and business practices, contributing to the city's environmental, social, and economic goals. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.
Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Coordinate the development of programs, policies, and projects to advance sustainable development in Louisville. Work collaboratively with other agencies, community organizations, stakeholders, employers, businesses, industries, and consumers to ensure robust stakeholder input.
Collects and analyzes data, looking for trends and/or areas of improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of programs and projects. Conducts research, keeping up to date with the latest best practices in sustainable development and presents recommendations. Collaborates with existing, prospective, and other relevant stakeholders and community partners to ensure robust input.
Conducts in-depth environmental and regulatory assessments of projects to quantify their physical impacts and contribution towards achieving a sustainability goals. Coordinates with various relevant agencies and parties to implement sustainable development programs and policies. Engages with residents at public events and by phone and email.
Provides technical support on sustainable development matters to other agencies at Louisville Metro. Possesses familiarity with green business certification systems and ESG frameworks. Develops proposals and plans for programs, projects, and policies that sustainable development, such as green development incentives, green workforce development programs, sustainable business partnerships, etc.
with an equity lens. Writes reports, creates presentations, and other collateral including data visualizations and written analysis to communicate program goals, progress, and outcomes. Drafts Requests for Proposals, Scopes of Works, and manages contractors as needed.
Supports grant writing efforts for relevant federal, state, and philanthropic grants. Collects and analyzes economic and climate data to support reporting and decision-making. Designs data collection plans to measure program outcomes and effectiveness.
Conducts program evaluation. Ensures quality, standards, and enforcement. Responds to regular data requests in a professional and timely manner.
Support other Office of Sustainability efforts as needed. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Architecture, Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, Information Systems, Life Sciences, Physical Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Science, Statistics, Sustainability, Urban Planning, or related field Four (4) years of experience in the business sector or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
