Job Description
Aptive is hiring a Surgical Technician for full-time work at the VA Northern California Health Care System. Responsibilities include preparing surgical instruments, assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile environments, and providing post-operative support. Candidates must have completed an accredited Surgical Technician program and ideally have one year of experience. This position is not remote and involves working in a high-stress surgical environment.

Location: VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) - Multiple SitesContract Period: Base Year + Three Option YearsSchedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hourly: 40.00/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and set up surgical instruments and sterile fields for procedures.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by handing instruments and supplies.
• Ensure all surgical equipment and materials are sterile and available for use.
• Monitor and maintain surgical environment safety and infection control measures.
• Handle and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Provide post-operative support, including cleaning and organizing surgical areas.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in high-stress surgical environments.
