The Job

The Procurement Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for managing the local/regional procurement process, ensuring seamless integration with Covanta's procedures and policies. This role oversees all facility procurement activities, from supplier qualification to performance management, guaranteeing compliance with supply scopes, company policies, and best business practices.
• Building strong relationships with key suppliers, optimizing procurement processes, and fostering collaboration
• Conducting thorough RFP evaluations, market assessments, and negotiation efforts to secure optimal deals
• Facilitating bid review conferences, coordinating communication, and conducting site visits to ensure accurate evaluations
• Finalizing contract agreements, addressing potential disputes, and ensuring effective contract administration
• Implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating favorable terms, and expediting purchase orders to drive efficiency and savings
• Developing and implementing cost reduction strategies, supplier quality assurance programs, and performance monitoring initiatives
• Analyzing supplier performance, contract compliance, and recommending necessary adjustments to optimize procurement outcomes
• Preparing comprehensive cost reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and informing strategic decisions to drive business growth
• Designing and delivering training programs on procurement systems, enhancing stakeholder proficiency, and driving organizational excellence
• Fostering strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging their innovation, and driving collaborative success
• Maintaining open communication channels, engaging in regional and corporate meetings, and facilitating knowledge sharing to drive best practices
• Collaborating with facility teams, leading cross-functional projects, and driving organizational excellence to achieve remarkable results
• Optimizing spare part inventory management across facilities, promoting resource sharing, and streamlining logistics to drive efficiency and savings
