The SCM will proactively assess social and environmental risks in the battery supply chain and drive targeted and innovative activities to address them. The goal is to elevate our suppliers' sustainability performance. The role is in Tesla's Battery Responsible Sourcing (RS) team, which is part of the Battery Cell Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization that includes commercial procurement and supplier industrialization engineering. The role will focus on suppliers for our growing Energy (Megapack, Powerwall) business. The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing sustainability in battery and critical mineral supply chains and excels in a dynamic environment that allows them to independently develop innovative approaches. What You'll Do Engage with suppliers to develop action plans and drive improvements in working conditions, environmental management, and corporate governance Collect, analyze, and synthesize complex supply chain data and documentation, including audit reports and supply chain maps Perform due diligence across battery and critical mineral supply chains using third-party platforms and other external sources Present strategic risk assessments and mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders, including commercial supply chain managers and executives Review supplier contracts to ensure robust responsible sourcing clauses are embedded Evolve and implement a strategy to improve working conditions in the battery supply chain Drive innovation in factory conditions monitoring to elevate labor standards in the battery supply chain What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent experience 4+ years of relevant experience in supply chain Understanding of battery cell manufacturing processes, cathode chemistry, and the different steps involved in the battery supply chain (specific understanding of the Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supply chain is a plus) Understanding of relevant responsible sourcing standards, frameworks, and audit processes Exceptional analytical skills Strong precision and attention to detail Ability to excel in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous situations Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster cross-functional collaboration, including with Commercial Procurement, Trade Legal, Policy, and Engineering functions Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $104,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
