BSW Group is seeking a Supply Chain Manager for Forestry & Timber Products based in Carlisle, UK, with UK-wide travel. Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end supply chain operations, from raw material sourcing to final product distribution. This role requires expertise in supply chain management, with passion for forestry products, strong supplier relationships, and a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
• Estimate throughput from sawmills and coordinate with procurement department to decide which plots of trees have priority.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
• Monitor and improve supply chain performance, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.
• Work closely with the central transport team to coordinate transportation and warehousing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Oversee compliance with industry regulations, including environmental and trade policies.
• Analyse market trends and supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team to drive operational excellence.

• Proven experience in supply chain management
• Enthusiastic about working in the forestry, timber, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and industry regulations
• Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in supply chain software and data analysis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market demands
• Relevant qualifications in supply chain management, logistics, or forestry preferred
