Internship Job Description Summary:

The selected intern will learn about the essential functions of Supply Chain and Logistics while working on various projects with the Leadership Team. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable real-world work experience with GD Energy Products. GD Energy Products is looking for a college student who desires to work in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere and be exposed to all aspects of the Supply Chain, including Logistics, vendor selection, materials planning, inventory control, and distribution.

Responsibilities:

The intern will support key functions, including:

Commodities: Identifies, develops and grows global and regional suppliers for the commodities. Tracks total spend and savings generated globally and regionally by commodity. Finds methods for cost reductions.

Procurement: Establishes, distributes and maintains the preferred supplier list. Manages and directs the procurement and planning activities. Provides timely and relevant market and benchmark data to support sourcing decisions.

Logistics: Coordinates domestic and international contracts relating to transportation and logistics providers. Ensures logistics meets production schedules and material costs are within forecast limits.

Qualifications:
• Pursuing a degree in business, management, or engineering.
• Ability to efficiently identify and resolve problems
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop excellent working relationships with vendors, customers, and staff at all levels of the organization
