About the position
KOMAN Sustainable Solutions is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee construction projects in Fort Smith, AR, particularly those involving federal contracting. The Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and contractual obligations. This position requires a proactive approach to managing construction activities, supervising field staff, and maintaining effective communication with clients and project teams. The Superintendent will be responsible for planning and directing all construction activities, coordinating labor, materials, and equipment, and creating detailed schedules to track project progress. In this role, the Superintendent will also be tasked with establishing a safe work environment by facilitating safety meetings, maintaining safety logs, and addressing any safety concerns that arise. The ability to read and understand construction plans and scopes of work is essential, as is the capacity to prepare action plans based on these documents. The Superintendent will work closely with the project team to monitor schedules and budgets, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with the established goals. Additionally, the Superintendent will be responsible for procuring necessary equipment, arranging for regular maintenance, and producing accurate daily reports on project status. This position requires a strong leader who can mentor field staff, provide constructive feedback, and resolve issues as they occur. Responsibilities
• Plans and directs all construction activities on the project.

• Supervises and mentors all field staff and provides constructive feedback.

• Coordinates all labor, materials, and equipment for the project.

• Creates & manages 'three week' look ahead schedules and reviews them with the project team, subcontractors, and clients.

• Reads and understands construction plans and scope of work thoroughly to prepare action plans.
,
• Partners with project team to track project schedule and budgets.
,
• Establishes a safe work environment, facilitates safety meetings, updates safety logs, and documents safety concerns.
,
• Maintains clear communication channel with clients and the project team and resolves problems as they arise.
,
• Plans inspections and obtains construction permits from local authorities.
,
• Implements safety and quality guidelines.
,
• Procures the appropriate equipment and arranges regular maintenance.
,
• Communicates with clients and internal team on project progress.
,
• Produces accurate and detailed daily reports.
Requirements
• 5 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent.

• Experience with federal government contracting is highly desired.
,
• Active OSHA 30, EM385, CQM-C, and CPR/First Aid certifications are highly desired.

• Ability to manage diverse projects, subcontractors, resources, and teams.

• Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.

• Understanding of construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

• Willingness to travel and/or work remotely for periods of time as required.

• Understanding of project scheduling software.
