Summer Research Position at Illinois Sustainable Technology Center

The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, a division of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, is seeking upper-level undergraduate/graduate research hourly candidates with a mechanical engineering, nuclear and plasma engineering, aerospace engineering, or chemical engineering background to conduct CFD simulation works on a plasma-based CO2 capture and conversion project.

Job Description:

This is a simulation work-based summer 2025 (3 months) research position. Candidates should have a detailed and thorough understanding of CFD simulations and CFD simulation software such as COMSOL, MATLAB, ANSYS, FLUENT, etc. Both advanced undergraduate students and graduate students with good working knowledge of simulating mixing patterns of gases through channels and porous media in the absence or presence of plasma, as well as chemical interactions and chemical kinetics, are preferred.
