Job Description

Maine Audubon is seeking Summer Camp Environmental Educators in Falmouth, ME. Responsibilities include developing and teaching camp programs for children aged 3-10, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining inclusive group dynamics. Candidates should have experience with outdoor education and a commitment to equity. A relevant degree is preferred, along with First Aid/CPR certification. The role requires physical activity, including lifting and hiking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and teach developmentally-appropriate day camp and outreach programs tied to Maine Audubon’s mission;Be able to communicate with and foster inclusive group dynamics for children ages 3-10;Set-up and break-down program equipment daily/weekly;Maintain safety standards and protocols, accident reports, and participant medical forms;Communicate professionally with caregivers during pick-up and drop-off. Qualifications Experience working with children ages 3-11 in outdoor settings, such as camp/environmental/experiential/outdoor education experience;Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusive teaching practices;B.A./B.S. (or be working towards one) in education, biology, or environmental studies preferred;Enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with others;Knowledge of Maine flora, fauna, and ecological concepts;Must have or be willing to obtain Adult/Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification;Must pass a criminal background check.
