We seek a talented Stream Restoration Professional for our Baltimore, MD office. The ideal candidate views challenges as opportunities and desires collaboration within a dynamic team passionate about meaningful work. A 2-5 year experience in stream restoration design, fluvial geomorphology, sediment transport, stream ecology, and stream assessment is anticipated.

This role supports the assessment and design of small to large stream restoration projects from conceptual design through construction advertisement packages. Field and office work primarily occurs in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, involving physical and biological field surveys of streams, existing conditions evaluation, functional assessments, restoration design solution development, and environmental construction oversight. Travel in the Mid-Atlantic region may be necessary.

Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting environmental restoration design projects such as stream, wetland, and shoreline restoration projects
• Developing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Creating reports to support assessment, design, and monitoring efforts
• Conducting fieldwork including geomorphic assessments, natural resource inventories, watershed inventories, and assessments
• Collaborating and communicating with project teams

Job requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Civil, Environmental, Ecological, Biosystems)
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Critical thinking skills required
• Able to work both collaboratively/in a team environment and independently
• Project design experience related to stream, wetland, living shoreline, and/or stormwater management practice
• Experience performing fieldwork for functional stream assessments, biological restoration monitoring, environmental construction oversight, and/or geomorphic assessments
• Able to work in physically challenging outdoor settings
• Experience working in the Mid-Atlantic region (Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania) preferred
• Experience with HEC-RAS and other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software preferred
• Experience developing engineering construction plans in MicroStation preferred
