Job Description

Guthrie is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Capital Purchasing, managing sourcing for capital equipment and services for large projects. Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare. The position is hybrid, requiring some on-site work.
Job Description

Position Summary:

Manage the sourcing of all capital equipment purchases. Manage the sourcing of services and materials required for equipment, construction and other large capital projects, while continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to lower total cost of ownership. Activities include owning relationships with project managers and defining and executing sourcing strategies.

Education, License & Cert:

A Bachelors’ Degree in Healthcare or related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum five or more years of progressively responsible related experience in healthcare and or supply chain. Hospital experience preferred.

Essential Functions:
• Manage sourcing activities for all equipment, construction, and other large scale capital projects
• Directs activities concerned with contracts for sales of decommissioned equipment, finding the best possible financial option
• Determine appropriate sourcing strategies for all capital projects. Write and administer complex RFPs with potential suppliers, administer, analyze, make recommendations and communicate results
• Develop fact-based negotiations strategies and lead multiple negotiations. Execute sourcing strategies from project identification through close-out. Manage OpenMarkets computer system. Train end-users
• Support project delivery teams, addressing services and materials issues and attending multiple key project meetings (on-site as needed)
• Review project specific detail on costs for labor, equipment, materials, subcontracts, overhead, taxes, insurance, and mark ups to identify procurement savings opportunities that support project strategy
• Build and maintain Supplier/Contractor relationships with the objective of reducing total costs and eliminating inefficiencies
• Measure compliance to and effectiveness of unit-cost and other framework agreements. Resolve issues and crises escalating to VP Supply Chain as needed. Identify and manage project supply risk
• Collect, collate and report data to support Business Plan calculations and other Key Performance Indicators. Assist with project cost estimates to support planning, budgeting, value engineering, procurement strategy, change order analysis and overall project cost control
• Provide guidance and coaching to internal business partners on capital projects sourcing

Other Duties:
• Acts as a liaison between clinical staff, vendors, and any other stakeholders.
• Stay current with market trends and new technology for supplies, equipment and services.
