About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Manager at Yusen Logistics is responsible for leading the Strategic Sourcing and Market Analysis function within the Logistics Procurement & Partner Management (LPM) team. This role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing logistics spend, and providing data-driven market intelligence to internal stakeholders. The manager will influence the sourcing methodology and collaborate with various teams to enhance service, cost, and sustainability in logistics operations.

Responsibilities
• Support the development and improvement of the source-to-contract methodology through strategic design and implementation of policies and processes.

• Prepare and execute all aspects of sourcing projects across the 7-step sourcing process.

• Manage the group's logistics spend in the US and build logistics category strategies to maximize service and sustainability.

• Develop and implement innovative ideas for a best-in-class logistics sourcing organization.

• Identify and implement continuous cost and performance improvement opportunities.
,
• Conduct market research and analysis to summarize industry trends and movements.
,
• Access and distribute internal and external benchmarking to stakeholders.
,
• Identify opportunities for sustainable solutions to reduce GHG emissions.
,
• Conduct research and pre-qualification of Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
,
• Support and execute contract and pricing negotiations.

Requirements
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Procurement/Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or logistics.
,
• 3+ years of experience specifically in strategic sourcing of transportation services preferred.
,
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word).

• Expert-level skills in data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau preferred.

• Proficient in sourcing-related tools including eSourcing and supplier management systems.

• Proficiency in contract management and project management systems preferred.
