Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Stormwater & Climate Resiliency Project Manager in our Princeton, NJ office to deliver stormwater, green infrastructure, and other climate and coastal resiliency projects, contributing to the rapid growth of this service line. This position will lead the delivery of adaptation planning and resilient design tasks/projects for a wide array of clients. The ideal candidate will thrive as a vital part of a resourceful and collaborative water team and climate resilience practice group for Kleinfelder's East Division.

Candidates are required to have significant engineering and design subject matter expertise with respect to green infrastructure, stormwater management, and climate change adaptation.

Remote or hybrid working is an option, however, this role is also intended to provide critical leadership and mentoring to our team of professionals, and opportunities for in-office engagement are preferred. Our cross-disciplinary solutions depend upon robust engagement of practitioners across a variety of areas of expertise; it is this appreciation of big-picture vision in a context of practical project execution that allows us to arrive at 'right solutions.'

The role is intended to be interdisciplinary and assignments may be generated through any of our many practice areas, including Water and Climate Change Resiliency.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as project manager, lead engineer, and/or lead stormwater technical liaison with client on project efforts, including capital projects, new construction, retrofit, and flood hardening projects for public and private sector entities.
• Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of stormwater drainage and climate change adaptation or resiliency projects.
• Lead drainage design efforts, including but not limited to the design of storm drains, pipe networks, storm sewers, culverts, green stormwater infrastructure, and other detention/water quality facilities.
• Stormwater design responsibilities include preparing agency-required documentation such as Water Quality Technical Reports, SWPPPs, erosion control, and/or stormwater management plans and permitting documents.
• Familiarity with New Jersey's Stormwater and Inland Flood Protection Rules, and Soil Erosion Control Regulations.
• Perform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using AutoCAD/Microstation, and/or Civil-3D.
• Development of specifications, technical report writing, quantities, cost estimating, and engineering support of construction.
• Coordinate with professionals in Kleinfelder's East Division Climate Resilience Practice Group, including waterfront and coastal hazard experts on projects related to sea level rise, storm surge, coastal erosion, and the use of flood hardening measures (seawall, bulkheads, revetments, deployable flood barriers) and coastal nature-based solutions (living shorelines, dune, and wetland restoration).
• Project Management responsibilities for this position include effectively managing project/task schedules, resources, and budgets, including internal and external teams and subconsultants; drawing upon expertise from multiple disciplines, including planning, natural and social sciences, engineering, and architecture, to solve technical problems; maintaining regular and constructive communication with clients and project team members; coordinating efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort; and mentoring junior staff in the proper planning and execution of project tasks.
• Participation in the preparation of proposals and project interviews, and carry out quality reviews of deliverables produced by others (as directed).
• Contribution to the visibility of Kleinfelder staff, clients, and projects through participation in professional organizations and external events.
Requirements:
• 8+ years of professional experience in civil engineering experience with an emphasis in drainage and/or stormwater design.
• Demonstrated knowledge of with respect to green infrastructure, watershed planning, stormwater management, and/or climate change adaptation, and experience applying it in projects.
• Professional registration (see below on Certifications).
• Experience leading tasks/projects.
• Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills.
• Experience developing/reviewing proposals.
• Dedication to client service, technical rigor, and high quality.
• High emotional intelligence.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required. Master's degree is a plus.

Certifications:Professional Engineering licensure (in any . state) is required. licensure in New Jersey and/or New York (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 1 year) is a plus. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is a plus.
