Role Description
We are hiring a Staff Quality Engineer to drive continual product and process improvements of our pioneering technology. You will develop quality processes and methodologies and will lead and participate in cross-functional teams, working with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Suppliers and Operations to address and improve quality/reliability and manufacturability issues. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with duties focused on the entire product development lifecycle, from early R&D to validation testing, pilot builds and ultimately, SOP/customer deliveries. You will be an integral part of Form Energy’s Quality Team, helping ensure that all products meet customer and company requirements.

What You'll Do
Work closely with Design/Manufacturing Engineering to develop and document measurement, inspection, and test methods in support of our Control Plans.Support change management and execution of process development experimentsRegularly review PFMEAs and Control Plans and support updates and revisionsLead/assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issuesParticipate in continuous improvement activities with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and external SuppliersSupport Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and use critical thinking to efficiently reduce variation during manufacturingLead non-conforming material control activities
What You'll Bring
5-10 years of quality systems experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in SPC, PFMEAs and Control PlansStrong aptitude with electronic test and measurements systemsProficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagramsStructured problem-solving (8D) and analytical skills, including strong technical skills in statistical tools, Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Capability (Cpk, Ppk), etc.Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skillsAbility to manage, synthesize, and interpret dataBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field
Where You'll Work
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
