Staff Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

Ninyo & Moore is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist for their offices in Alameda, West Sacramento, or San Jose, CA. The role involves field tasks like site reconnaissance and sampling, as well as office tasks such as data compilation and report preparation. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 2+ years of relevant experience, and OSHA HAZWOPER training. Full-time position.
Job Description: Ninyo & Moore has an immediate opening in our Alameda, West Sacramento, or San Jose, California office for a Staff or Senior Staff-Level Environmental Professional to assist with the following tasks:
• conducting various field tasks comprised of site reconnaissance, soil and groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, air monitoring, coordination and oversight of subcontractor,
• preparing daily field reports;
• various office tasks comprised of data compilation, review and assimilation of historic information and environmental databases,
• assisting with report preparation and other project documents,
• phone/email contact/coordination with subcontractors/vendors,
• phone/email contact related to interviews and discussions with site owner/users, and
• management of tasks and task budgets.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Certification: Current OSHA HAZWOPER training. Other certifications and registrations a plus.

Required Skills: The successful candidate should have 2+ years of experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and other site investigations commensurate with years of experience. 2 years' experience in the above listed tasks. Experience on construction sites a plus. Candidate must have solid base writing skills, effective inter-communication skills, familiarity with ASTM E1527-21 and ASTM E-1903-11, and ability to work with a support teams as well as ability to work independently when required. Also must have a proficiency with Word and Excel. Prior work history with a consulting firm preferred.
