Amazon is hiring a Sr. Sustainability PM for its Global Energy, Sustainability, and Automation team in Dubai. The role involves overseeing sustainability initiatives related to building decarbonization and energy efficiency across various business units. Responsibilities include program strategy, technical implementation, stakeholder management, and commercial negotiations. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and extensive experience in project management and sustainability. The position requires 20-30% international travel.
We are seeking a dynamic Sr Execution Planning PM to join our Global Energy Sustainability and Automation (GESA) Buildings Energy Technology team. The successful candidate will orchestrate the execution planning communication and tracking of sustainability initiatives focusing on building decarbonization, energy systems, energy efficiency, and resource optimization across our First Mile (CF), Middle Mile (ATS), and Last Mile (AMZL) business units in the AMET region.


The role will be based in the United Arab Emirates with 20‑30% international travel.


Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Leadership:

Maintain comprehensive program‑level oversight while monitoring site‑level progress and informing leadership decisions through clear analysis and recommendations on high‑impact tradeoffs.
Liaise with the Project Management Office (PMO) for budget/labor planning, milestones reporting, and highlighting program‑related risk.
Partner with cross‑functional teams (Design, Construction, Global Sustainable Development, Asset Management, Finance, Construction Tech, Operations, Sustainability) on due diligence evaluations and implementation.
Drive continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, lessons learned documentation, and team coaching on sustainability best practices.


Technical Implementation & Engineering:

Oversee construction engineering planning and design for sustainability inclusions in new buildings, tracking carbon footprint, performing engineering calculations, and reviewing material/equipment specifications for energy efficiency and payback.
Lead implementation of renewable energy projects including solar PV installations, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and microgrids from technical assessment through construction completion.
Assess facilities through surveys and audits to evaluate carbon impact of building designs and recommend energy efficiency improvements for mechanical systems and building envelopes.
Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and analyses, defining sustainability requirements while establishing systems to track progress across New Build and Retrofit programs.


Stakeholder Management & Commercial:

Serve as sustainability SME managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, designers, consultants, and permitting authorities.
Negotiate and manage Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) coordinating with stakeholders to ensure optimal technical and commercial outcomes.



Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
7 years of demonstrated experience in construction project management, real estate development, architecture/design with a sustainability focus.
10 years of program or project management experience.
3 years of hands‑on experience in construction management of renewable energy projects.
Experience with sustainability‑focused financial modeling and ROI analysis.
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
Experience owning program strategy end‑to‑end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across organizational levels with proven ability to deliver results independently in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
Strong collaborative skills demonstrating success in driving alignment on complex topics across large cross‑functional teams and initiatives.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) or building professional accreditation such as LEED Accredited Professional, PE, CEM, LFA, or other.
Experience reading and interpreting building engineering drawings.
10 years of demonstrated green building experience and industry‑leading sustainability design and construction.
Experience with UAE, KSA, Egypt, Turkey, South African, and/or European building regulations.
Arabic language proficiency.
Proficiency in Turkish, Afrikaans, or other languages.

Travel & Location
Based in the United Arab Emirates with 20‑30% international travel.
