We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Mitiga Solutions. As a Climate Change Mitigation Specialist, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge solutions to mitigate the risks associated with climate-driven perils.

Mitiga Solutions is a spin-off of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, hosting MareNostrum, one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers. Our mission is to employ advanced science and technology to enhance climate mitigation, resilience, and equity through comprehensive risk assessment and risk transfer to capital markets via catastrophe bonds.
Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:
• Delivering Solutions in the Cloud: Developing and integrating systems, applications, and components to support product development, translating requirements into functional building blocks, collaborating with team members, performing testing, and maintaining documentation.
• Bringing Automations and Integrations to Life: Building automated processes to improve efficiency and allow the team to focus on strategic development.
• Fostering an Infrastructure-as-Code Mindset: Overseeing application and infrastructure planning, testing, and development, with shared responsibility across the tech team for scalability and reliability.
• Maintaining CI/CD Pipelines: Selecting and deploying CI/CD tools, improving pipelines, and implementing GitOps practices.
• Monitoring and Incident Response: Deploying platform solutions, identifying application and infrastructure blind spots, monitoring services, and responding to incidents promptly to ensure high service reliability.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• At least 8 years of experience in the field.
• A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent practical experience) in computer science or engineering.
• Version control experience with Git.
• Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, Logging systems).
• Bash scripting.
• Python for tool development, code quality, and unit testing.
• Building pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc., including automated testing.
• Experience with high availability systems.
• Microservices architecture (servers, REST, Queue systems like Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Expertise in designing, developing, and managing large real-time systems, with HPC knowledge.
