Job Description
The Sr. Analyst, Fleet Sustainability Innovation & Planning at US Foods is responsible for executing sustainability initiatives, analyzing market trends, and providing insights to reduce carbon emissions. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in Rosemont, IL, for two days a month while allowing virtual work. About the position
The Sr. Analyst, Fleet Sustainability Innovation & Planning role at US Foods is pivotal in executing the company's sustainability roadmap. This position involves analyzing market trends, conducting thorough research, and providing insights that will inform sustainability decisions and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals, particularly aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The analyst will be responsible for tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying opportunities to enhance sustainability practices within the fleet operations. This hybrid role allows for a mix of onsite and virtual work, with the expectation of being onsite at the corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL, for two days each month. The analyst will perform cost-effective analyses to ensure that sustainability and innovation plans for fleet maintenance are financially viable, ensuring that the total cost of ownership is equal to or less than the incurred expenses. Additionally, the role requires investigating practices that minimize waste, reduce the corporation's carbon footprint, and maximize efficiency, all of which will inform the sustainability roadmap. The analyst will analyze existing operating procedures, materials, and methods to identify improvement opportunities in sustainability practices. They will also anticipate and implement changes based on sustainability goals, perform lifecycle assessments, and conduct cost analyses of proposed modifications. Establishing close working relationships with cross-functional partners is essential to provide insights into a capital plan that supports sustainability projects and programs. The analyst will manage vendors and implement strategic sourcing practices specific to sustainable fleet vehicles, equipment, and parts. Furthermore, they will provide inputs to metrics and KPIs that drive actionable outcomes, highlighting trends and deviations that may necessitate strategic planning changes. Keeping the organization informed about the latest industry trends, emerging suppliers, and technologies in the field is also a critical aspect of this role.
Responsibilities
• Perform analysis to ensure sustainability and innovation plans for fleet maintenance are cost effective, ensuring that the total cost of ownership is either equal to or less than the expense incurred

• Investigate practices that minimize waste, reduce the corporation's carbon footprint, and maximize efficiency to inform the sustainability roadmap

• Analyze existing operating procedures, materials, and methods to identify opportunities for improvement in existing sustainability practices

• Anticipate and implement changes or modifications based on sustainability goals, and perform lifecycle assessments and cost analyses of proposed modifications

Requirements
• 2 years of strategy, finance, supply chain, logistics, and/or sustainability experience, or related experience
,
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office with the ability to present clear and concise information to key stakeholders
,
• Strong analytical skills with consistency in quality
,
• Ability to manage time and balance multiple tasks with competing deadlines
,
• Adaptable to new technologies and tools
Nice-to-haves
• Knowledge of environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices related to sustainability practices, preferably in the foodservice or transportation industry
,
• Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Power Bi or equivalent tools
