Overview

Seeking a Specialist II, Product Management with Audio Insight and Sustainability Savvy

You will collaborate with operations, global compliance, engineering, and global marketing and sales teams to define and ensure the requirements for new products and product changes are met. This role requires a thorough understanding of target end-users’ needs, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses for the Shure product portfolio. Utilizing robust analytical skills, this position balances Shure’s business objectives, customer requirements, product designs, and engineering considerations (cost, time, risk) to make optimal recommendations.

This role will have a primary focus on sustainability, compliance, packaging, and labeling requirements and their respective changes.

This role will be hybrid based out of our Niles, IL HQ!
Responsibilities
• Represent the Global Marketing and Sales Division in product development projects as the “voice of the customer”, ensuring that product attributes create a positive end-user value proposition.
• Collaborate with regional offices to develop business assessments for product enhancements and channel requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work with corporate quality, global compliance, corporate sustainability, and operations teams to evaluate product changes, create proper documentation, and implement changes, including, but not limited to, Pre-charter proposals, assessments, charters, and system change requests.
• Monitor, analyze, and provide direction on revenue-impacting activities within the product portfolio, including quality issues, end-of-life parts, corporate sustainability projects, and global regulatory changes.
• Write detailed functional requirements for product development teams, ensuring clarity on success measures and including technical specification where necessary.
• Execute timely Alpha and Beta testing with end users, analyzing findings to determine the appropriate course of actions.
• Review user documentation for accuracy regarding product features, proper usage, and expected performance.
• Provide internal training regarding the operation, performance, usage environments, and ordering conventions on products before launch. Serve as the product champion during trade exhibitions.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the global market for competitive products and maintain contact with end users to validate product requirements based on competitive offerings and existing Shure products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in product management or environmental sciences.
• Comprehensive knowledge of marketing, product management, or technical support for technical products.
• Capacity to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Audio/Music industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of audio systems is preferred.
• Awareness of industry packaging sustainability/product PFAS trends and requirements is preferred.
• Ability to travel 10%.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent critical listening, analytic, and writing skills.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office software and internal IT systems.
