About the role

Are you ready to be at the forefront of driving positive change within Origin's People & Culture team? We're on a mission to make good change happen faster, and as Specialist Consultant - Employee Relations, you will play an important role in enabling our leaders to embed accountability, achieving exceptional performance. We have multiple opportunities available, working in a permanent and limited term capacity.

Reporting to the Manager – ER, as our Specialist Consultant - Employee Relations you will lead complex workplace investigations, providing exceptional advice on Australian employment laws, and managing risks and supporting a variety of stakeholders throughout the journey.  You will also: 
• Manage and resolve external ER claims and litigation, representing Origin in relevant tribunals.
• Act as a point of escalation for complex matters within the ER Team.
• Partner closely with our leaders, P&C and other stakeholders.
• Brief and direct external stakeholders, including lawyers and investigators.
• Support the ongoing development of ER practices through driving our strategic priorities and education.
• Be a key contributor to achieving P&C’s strategic objectives and be a part of continuous improvement initiatives.



Is this you?

The ideal candidate will have a background in ER, workplace relations, case management or HR Business Partnering with substantial ER exposure. If you are someone who thrives in a consultative service environment, possesses outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. Making sound decisions under pressure, we want to hear from you.

Key qualifications and skills include:
• Degree qualifications in law or business specialising in employment law/industrial relations or similar.
• 5+ years' experience in ER, workplace relations or similar.
• Deep understanding of Australian employment law and its practical application.
• Confidence and expertise in leading complex workplace investigations.
• Advocacy experience in managing matters before tribunals such as the Fair Work Commission.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced interpersonal skills, and influencing ability.
• Experience in fast-paced, complex organisations, emphasising trusted and timely advice.
• Familiarity with HR Information systems, such as ServiceNow and SuccessFactors.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
