Summary

We are seeking two proactive Speaker and Events Officers to support the seamless registration of high-profile speakers and delegates across Climate Week NYC. You’ll interact directly with leading figures in the climate space, lead on the invitations to our impactful roundtables and shape pre-event communications and attendee briefing collateral.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Speaker and Events Officer with a passion for climate action to join a dynamic and ambitious team. You will be responsible for registering speakers, ensuring they have the logistical information needed and preparing adequate briefing materials to ensure a seamless event experience. Additionally, you will invite senior delegates to roundtables and provide attendees with essential event details.

Acting as a key point of contact, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold Climate Group’s high event standards. Reporting to the Speaker and Events Manager, you will be well supported to play a critical role in ensuring that our events support Climate Group’s mission, bringing together the world’s most influential people to tackle climate change.

Key responsibilities will include:

Speaker Support
• Manage the end-to-end registration process for speakers, ensuring accurate data collection and efficient onboarding.
• Schedule and facilitate speaker briefing calls, providing key event details, session objectives, and audience insights to ensure they are well-prepared.

Delegate Outreach and Support
• Manage delegate invitations for roundtables, ensuring a targeted and strategic outreach to key stakeholders.
• Oversee delegate communications, maintain accurate records of delegate responses, tracking attendance and scheduling follow-ups as needed.

During and Post Event
• Support the Senior Manager, Content and Content Managers by answering key speaker queries whilst they are on the ground at Climate Week NYC
• Following the event, send out bespoke speaker and delegate emails to thank them for their participation and include key links to available photos and session recordings.
• Contribute to an internal ‘mini report’ on the success of each session measured against sponsorship targets, attendee numbers, virtual viewership and EDI balance.

About you

Essential:
• Strong proficiency in copywriting and proofreading
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of cultures, levels of seniority and geographies
• Proactive, professional, and diplomatic demeanour
• Commitment to the mission of the Climate Group and having a good understanding of our areas of work
• Flexibility to work ‘U.S. friendly' hours during June-September

Desirable:
• Demonstrate a deep and detailed knowledge and understanding of climate issues, with reference to corporate sustainability issues and subnational climate commitments
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working for an NGO or charity

Where you'll work

Based in our London office, near the iconic Tower Bridge, you’ll enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement – three days in the office, two days from home each week.

This is a six-month fixed-term position. The anticipated start date for this position is week commencing April 7th. The salary offered is £26,890 - £30,249 per annum, based on experience.
