American Conservation Experience is hiring Southwest Conservation Crew Members for a conservation term in Flagstaff, AZ. Join American Conservation Experience (ACE) in Flagstaff, Arizona, for a 450-hour, 675 hour or 900- hour AmeriCorps conservation term.

ScheduleSchedules vary, typically:
8 days on / 6 days off, or4 days on / 3 days offRemote projects may span multiple cycles, with 3-6 off-days near the project site.
Position OverviewServe on professionally supervised crews completing:
Habitat restorationTrail construction and maintenanceReforestation and forest thinningInvasive species removalFencing and plant identificationMembers gain experience with hand tools, restoration equipment, and power tools (including chainsaws) while working alongside agency partners such as the National Park Service, the US Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Note: trainings are primarily reserved for 900 hour members.
Professional DevelopmentParticipation in ACE's LEAF (Lead, Educate, and Facilitate) Program is required and includes:
A professional meeting with ACE staffFacilitating a conservation lessonTwo monthly professional development or community engagement eventsQualificationsRequired:
Must be a United States Citizen, United States National or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the United StatesWillingness to work outdoors in challenging conditionsAbility to hike long distances, carry up to 60 lbs., and perform 10-hour work daysPass a criminal history checkPreferred:
Hiking/navigation experienceInterest in conservation careersCommunity involvement experienceWork EnvironmentPhysically demanding outdoor work in varied and sometimes extreme weather (below freezing to 100°ree;F+), rough terrain, and high-noise environments. Most projects are tent camping. Domestic travel required.
