King & Wood Mallesons is seeking a Solutions Engineer - M365 & Power Platform in Sydney or Melbourne. This role involves supporting technology platforms, mentoring team members, and collaborating on custom solutions. Role Detail
Joining our highly regard Technology team, approx 90 nationally, you will join a team of professionals who excel beyond their technical excellence. Operating within this team at the firm will utilise your exceptional communication skills; your collegiate approach when collaborating with the wider Technology team; your critical thinking ability to look ahead and ensure we comply with security and safety requirements; and your leadership capabilities to mentor, encourage and support the wider team to deliver to the quality and standard expected of a top tier law firm.
Reporting to the Solutions Development Manager, this pivotal senior level Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with team members to design, review, and implement custom solutions that meet the diverse needs of our clients.
While you will contribute significantly to the design and implementation process, this role emphasises teamwork and collective ownership of the solutions we deliver.
Flexibility to be based in the Sydney or Melbourne CBD office, with a balanced approach to WFH, you will also play a critical role in maintaining effective and clear documentation, ensuring that all technical specifications and processes are well-documented for both current and future reference.
As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for communicating complex technical solutions to stakeholders, including senior executives, in a manner that is accessible and understandable.
You will be expected to continuously update your technical skills and stay informed about new and emerging technologies, such as AI and AI Agents. This knowledge will not only enhance your contributions to the team but will also help in driving innovation within our solutions.

• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting Enterprise solutions
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
• Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and services, including demonstrated experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI for building custom business solutions
• Demonstrated experience working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and practices, including participation in Agile ceremonies and collaboration in cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in PowerShell, and T-SQL
• Ability to engage and build professional relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrated experience in managing project and BAU work with the ability to delegate effectively
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and to “think-outside-the-box”
• Experience working in corporate or professional services environment with high expectations
• Previous experience working with business and technology stakeholders to deliver various types of technology solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Looked on favourably:
• Familiarity with AI concepts and technologies, including AI Agents, machine learning, and natural language processing
• Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC phases, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and Azure Logic Apps, along with experience in deploying and managing applications in the Azure cloud environment
• Experience in C#, ASP.NET, Blazor, JavaScript, and frameworks like React and Angular
• Experience developing and supporting cloud and on-premises solutions
