Job Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a Solar Utility Technician for its Reno, NV location. The role involves maintenance and operations within the Power Generation Division, focusing on cleaning mirror panels and heat collecting elements. Responsibilities include operating washing equipment, performing minor repairs, and site clean-up. Candidates should demonstrate safety behaviors and have a high school diploma or GED. The position offers a salary range of $37,600 to $56,400 annually.
This position will be based in Reno, NV at Dodge Flats Solar.

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. This individual will perform the maintenance, electrical & mechanical day to day operations.

Relevant skills are included include but are not limited to:

• Demonstrated safety behaviors and values

• Maintenance of vegetation

• Grounding and switching

• Management of contractors

Job Overview

The main focus of the job is to perform mirror and HCE tube cleaning. The position is part of a six-man crew. The team will have to be proficient in operating the mirror-washing equipment, including tractor operation, water truck operation, and mirror-washing brush equipment. When mirror wash cannot be accomplished, the team will be utilized to perform site clean-up or minor maintenance on mirror wash equipment.

The estimated base pay for this position is $37,600.00 to $56,400.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
