Leeward Energy is hiring a Level 3 Solar Technician in Pryor, OK. The role involves performing routine maintenance on solar systems, ensuring safety compliance, managing work orders, and collaborating with the team. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to perform physical tasks. The position requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work, with opportunities for skill development.
OverviewLRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.
LRE has an ambitious goal of 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. We take a full-lifecycle approach to our projects, built on a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the environment.
ResponsibilitiesRoutine Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on solar panels, inverters, racking, and tracking systems under supervision. Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.Work Order Management: Accurately record all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work order creation, updates, and closure.Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices to minimize risks.Reporting: Assist in preparing reports on maintenance activities, including documenting issues encountered, solutions implemented, and recommendations for future work.Learning & Development: Engage in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and knowledge in solar plant operations. Participate in company-provided training programs to advance to higher levels within the solar technician career path.Equipment Handling: Assist in handling and organizing tools, equipment, and materials required for maintenance tasks. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored.Team Collaboration: Work closely with higher-level technicians and the Site Lead to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Follow instructions and seek guidance when needed to ensure safe and accurate execution of work.Physical Work: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 50 lbs. Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and company procedures.Ability to accurately document work activities and follow instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.Physical DemandsAbility to lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 50 lbs.Comfort working in confined spaces and exposed to inclement weather conditions.Position requires extended periods of standing and walking.Notice to Recruiters and Staffing AgenciesLeeward Renewable Energy (LRE) does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiting vendors or employment agencies.
